UAE journeys

Movement and range, held at a civilised pace

The Emirates leg answers a different question than the Maldives. Where the islands give stillness and reef, this is a week of dunes, old quarters, museums and long dinners. The studio plans it as a second chapter, not a layover.

  • DubaiArrival base. Creek side lanes in the morning, a dune afternoon outside the city, one evening on the water.
  • Abu DhabiTwo days for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre galleries and the corniche.
  • Ras Al KhaimahThe quiet alternative. Hajar mountain roads, hot springs and a low-rise seafront stay.
  • SharjahAdded for travellers who want heritage and craft over skylines.

Pace: two emirates per week, never more than one internal transfer every third day, and a free morning protected in every city. Before departure you receive the conduct briefing covering dress, photography, Ramadan and public conduct, so nothing on the ground comes as a surprise.

Red dune ridge outside the city at late afternoon, with a single 4x4 track running toward the horizon
Rub' al Khali fringe, an hour from the arrival base. Late afternoon, before the desert dinner.

Costs are listed line by line in the written quote, so you can see what the studio pre-pays and what you settle yourself on the ground.

Sample itinerary

Three days, three changes of pace

The shape most travellers take on a four-night UAE journey. Nothing here is fixed. The days show how a trip moves between desert, old city and capital.

  1. Day one

Dune drive from Dubai, afternoon into evening

A 4x4 collects you at about 15:00 and leaves the highway near Al Faqa. Soft sand tracks, a stop on a high ridge for the light, then dinner at a desert camp under open sky. Licensed guides drive and belts stay on through the dunes. Back in the city by 22:00.

About 7 hours · Hotel pickup included · Covered shoulders and knees

  2. Day two

Old Dubai on foot, early morning

Start at Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood before 09:00, while the lanes are shaded and quiet. Wind-tower houses, the coffee museum courtyard, then the abra across the creek to Deira. One dirham, four minutes. The spice and gold souks follow, where bargaining is expected.

About 4 hours · Start 08:30 · Abra fare paid on the day

  3. Day three

    Half day in Abu Dhabi

Ninety minutes south on the E11 brings you to the capital. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque first, where the dress code is enforced, then Qasr Al Watan. Lunch on the Corniche at your own cost, and back in Dubai by late afternoon.

About 8 hours · Modest dress required · Entry times confirmed in writing

Each block is priced separately in the written itemised quote, so you can see what we pre-pay and what you settle locally. Swap a day and we rebuild the shape around it.

UAE journeys: conduct briefing

Six things to know before you land in the Emirates

The UAE is welcoming and rules-based at the same time. None of the six points below is complicated, and knowing them early keeps the trip relaxed. Your consultant walks through each one on the booking call.

  1. 01

    Dress

Beachwear stays at the beach and the pool. In malls, restaurants, mosques and government offices, shoulders and knees stay covered, and women are asked to carry a light scarf for mosque visits. Loose, modest clothing is also the most comfortable choice in the heat.

  2. 02

    Photography

Ask before photographing people, particularly women and children. Never photograph government buildings, police, ports or military sites. Some museums and mosques restrict cameras indoors; staff will show you where the limits are.

  3. 03

    Ramadan

During Ramadan, daytime eating, drinking and smoking move indoors to hotels and designated venues. Working hours shorten, some restaurants open only after sunset, and iftar tables fill quickly. It is a rewarding month to travel if meals are planned in advance.

  4. 04

    Public conduct

Public displays of affection are discouraged, and swearing or rude gestures can lead to fines. Alcohol is served in licensed hotels, bars and restaurants only. The drink-drive limit is effectively zero, so arrange a driver after any evening out.

  5. 05

    Restricted items

Narcotics, e-cigarettes and vaping liquid, some medicines, counterfeit goods and unpermitted drones are all restricted. Certain prescription drugs need approval before arrival. Send us your medication list and carry prescriptions in their original packaging.

  6. 06

    Local law

Local law applies to visitors and is not negotiable. Penalties around drugs and controlled substances are severe. If a dispute or an accident happens, contact your embassy and your consultant, and keep your travel insurance details with you.

Practical facts

Entry, visa and departure, stated without gloss

UAE paperwork depends on the passport you travel on, and the final word always belongs to the border officer. Here is what we check with you before anything is booked, and how the journey leaves Ukraine.

  • 01

Visa route depends on your passport

Ukrainian passports currently receive a visa on arrival for short UAE stays. Other passports may need an eVisa arranged in advance through a licensed sponsor. We confirm the live rule for the exact passport before any payment is taken.

  • 02

The decision belongs to the authorities

An approved visa is not a guarantee of admission. Officers at Dubai or Abu Dhabi may ask for an onward ticket, the hotel address and proof of funds. When travelling with a child, carry a birth certificate and written consent from the second parent.

  • 03

    Departure routing from Ukraine

Ukrainian airspace remains closed. Journeys begin with ground transport to a partner hub such as Warsaw, Istanbul or Chisinau, then a direct flight of roughly five to six hours into the Emirates. The ground leg is written into the itinerary, not left to you.

  • 04

    Documents worth carrying

A passport valid six months beyond arrival, the printed hotel address, a confirmed return or onward booking, and travel insurance that covers the UAE. Keep a second copy separate from the original.

  • 05

    When to go

October to April brings usable desert temperatures and calm sea. June to September is hot inland, though hotel and mall life runs as normal. Ramadan shifts daytime hours; the cultural conduct briefing covers what changes.

Next step

Tell us which emirate you have in mind

Abu Dhabi for the Grand Mosque and the museums, Dubai for city and desert in one week, Ras Al Khaimah for quiet mountains, or a loop that combines all three. Send your dates, your passport type and roughly how many nights you want, and we reply with a written itemised quote that separates what we pre-pay from what you spend on the ground.

Visa and entry rules depend on your passport. We confirm the exact requirements in writing at booking.
