A Maldives-only stay means we plan a single atoll instead of two countries. You sleep on the same island for most nights, eat where you slept, and measure the day by tide and light rather than by transfers.

Sample itineraries for a Maldives island stay

Both plans begin with ground travel to a partner hub such as Warsaw or Istanbul, then a scheduled flight into Velana International. In-resort transfer times below are estimates and are confirmed in writing with your quote.

7 nights, one atoll

1 island resort / 2 boat transfers / about 4 h door to door

  1. Day 1

    Arrival at Velana International, speedboat transfer 25 to 40 min to the resort, sunset and settle in.

  2. Day 2

    House-reef snorkelling straight from the beach. No transfer needed.

  3. Day 3

    Guided reef or manta dive, 10 to 15 min by boat from the jetty.

  4. Day 4

    Sandbank picnic, roughly 20 min by dhoni, half day out.

  5. Day 5

    Free day: spa, kayaks, or a second reef session.

  6. Day 6

    Local island visit by boat, 30 min each way, afternoon free.

  7. Day 7

    Slow morning, afternoon speedboat back to the Malé area.

  8. Day 8

    Departure from Velana International.

11 nights, two atolls

2 resorts + 1 guesthouse island / 4 transfers / one seaplane hop

  1. Day 1

    Arrival, speedboat 30 min to the first island resort.

  2. Days 2 to 4

    First atoll: reef walls, sandbank drift, one guided dive day.

  3. Day 5

    Seaplane hop to the second atoll, 35 to 45 min in the air plus jetty transfers. Seaplanes fly in daylight only.

  4. Days 6 to 8

    Second atoll: longer reef excursions, a manta or whale-shark window, two rest days.

  5. Day 9

    Speedboat 25 min to a local island guesthouse, evening with a host family.

  6. Day 10

    Reef and beach day on the local island, no transfers.

  7. Day 11

    Return leg to the Malé area, 40 min by speedboat.

  8. Day 12

    Departure from Velana International.

Visa routes and departure hubs

Entry rules for the Maldives follow the passport you hold and can change without notice, so treat everything below as guidance rather than a guarantee. Every requirement is confirmed with you in writing before any payment is taken.

Visa guidance by passport

    Ukrainian passports

    A free 30-day visa is issued on arrival. The passport must stay valid for at least six months, with a confirmed onward ticket and a booking at a registered resort or guesthouse.

  2. 02

    EU, UK and Canadian passports

    The same 30-day free visa on arrival, on the same conditions. Extensions are handled locally and reviewed case by case.

  3. 03

    All other passports

    Rules differ widely by nationality. Send us your passport type and we confirm the exact route, plus any supporting documents, before you commit.
